Bitching and moaning

It... kind of pisses me off that now that the trailer for The Last Airbender has been released and people are going "Oohhhh, pretty effects, I'm going to go see it for those!" and just ignoring all of the other issues with the film.

I just don't see any of the original spirit of ATLA in it at all and yes, I'm a little bit butthurt that people are going to support it.

Oh, unrelated: Thanks for your replies on my last entry, guys! I'm working on the original characters section of S9 so knowing what kinds of tidbits people like to read about them will be helpful.

Personally, I think the whole argument about the films is getting to be a bit old and overrated now. I'm just sick of reading and hearing about ppl fighting about it. It really comes down to one of two things. You either see it or you don't. And then you either like it or you don't, etc.

Even though I had issues about the casting, being worked up over it all the time is just a waste of effort on my part and not totally worth it. Besides, it's not like we can do much about it anymore anyway. I'm still gonna see the movie because it does sorta look promising. If it comes down to me not liking it, then I'll base my opinions on what I see on the screen--not what I see on the trailer.

It might be an old argument, but I'm going to continue being upset by it because this is something I feel strongly about. :T I won't pay money to see the movie, and I probably won't even bother to pirate it until my rage has died down a little, but I'm still going to bitch and rant because every time I see any movie materials all that happens is I think about how awesome a movie that actually took more from the original series would have been.

Exactly! They're totally missing the point of the story! It's such a beautiful series and here these people are looking at the movie and wanting to watch it for something as silly as the special effects. I mean, what the heck?

But I'm still going to watch it. I wanna see for myself what the movie's like. And if they screw up Zuko and Sakka, well...I know loads of people who are going to be mightily pissed off.
